LT test time. Yippee. Well over the past three months I haven't really seen any tangible improvement. Hmmm. I will say that each of the past three LT runs have been different. On my 1/16 run my HRM wasn't cooperating so I didn't record accurate HR data. My HR on 12/20 was 162 for the LT portion. Today was 153. That is sooper low comparatively. And it was into a sharp head wind for nearly 2/3 of the run.
What does that mean? Well I don't really know. The way I look at it is that I am running the same distance at the same pace at a lower heartrate. That is improvement. However, it may also indicate that I am leaving some gas in the tank and should be capable of picking it up more.
Since I am hitting a bit of a wall, I am going to mix up my runs a bit. I am going to head back to the track for some 400 & 800 intervals. This will allow me to focus on speed over shorter distances.
